When you sign up here at POKER UTD you can pick the football club you support. This is your team. If you play in the POKER UTD League tournament on Sunday, you and all the other players that support your team are playing for league points for your team.
Who are you playing against?
Whoever your football team played against in the football leagues that week . For instance. Liverpool played Chelsea on Saturday. This means that all the Liverpool players on POKER UTD will be against all the Chelsea players in the Sunday tournament. This goes for all the other League Fixtures, for all the teams, throughout the week as well. Everyone plays in the same tournament and it's called Match Day, every Sunday evening at 7:30pm.
The tournament can be found in the Specials section on the POKER UTD software.
How do you score?
Using the Liverpool v Chelsea example. The highest finishing player in the tournament in these two teams scores a 'goal' and their team win 1-0. So lets say the highest Liverpool finisher was 23rd and the highest Chelsea player finshed 6th. Then Chelsea win that game 1-0 with the highest Chelsea player being the goalscorer. This is also calculated for every team that has a league fixture that week and the POKER UTD League tables are updated.
Bonus Goals!
The 1st place finisher in the tournament scores 3 bonus goals making their total goals for that match 4 ( 3 bonus goals plus the 1 for finishing above the other team). The 2nd place finisher scores 2 bonus goals and 3rd place awards an additional goal.
So not only does placing in the top 3 win you a nice cash prize, it also awards you goals and helps you become a Top Goal Scorer and improves your teams goal difference in the League.
Sometimes your team will have played 2 games in the week. That means it's DOUBLE GOALS time in the Sunday tournament.
Confused?
Don't worry if all the info above seems a bit confusing. Basically all you have to do is play the Match Day tournament like you would any normal poker tournament and try and finish as high as possible. We then update the leagues automatically for all the players.
Prizes
As well as winning cash every week, you can also qualify for the End of Season Final where $1750 of added prize money is up for grabs. There is also a Golden Boot competition running where the top 3 goal scorers from each league get paid. See the Prizes section for more details.

Freeroll qualifiers every Monday and Tuesday at 8.30pm.
$1+10c buy in qualifiers every Wednesday and Thursday with rebuys at 8:30pm
$2+20c Freezout qualifiers every Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm
Placing in one of these tournaments will win you a Match Day Token that you can use to enter any Sunday Match Day tournament. Or you can just buy directly in for $10+$1.
